I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. The Transportation Team is seeking a highly technical Systems Developer / Analyst experienced with cloud-based development environments to play a lead role in interfacing with enterprise teams to perform analysis, gather requirements, and develop systems using cutting edge technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing and presentation skills and excel at communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors and business unit customers.
Job responsibilities include:
- Designing enterprise class solutions using modern technologies including terraforming, Azure DevOps, Databricks, data lakes, deployment pipelines, YAML, and Key Vaults to create service-oriented architecture and solution frameworks
- Performing data analysis by creating transformation layer and semantic layer data translations, executing and optimizing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Analyzing and translating of business requirements into technology solutions that consider system performance, usability, quality, cross-system interdependencies and scalability
- Document technical design models, specifications and test results
- Serve as an application expert on assigned application(s)
- Participate in an on-call production support rotation
- Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical disciplines or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience designing, developing, or testing enterprise applications
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience planning and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed environment
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience analyzing business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience with all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Minimum of 3 years IT experience with web development including .Net Core, Micro Services Architecture (MSA), Kafka, Docker, Telerik Splunk, Kubernetes (AKS, Redhat OpenShift, etc.), Azure DevOps, Angular, and automation pipelines CI/CD
- Minimum of 5 years IT experience working with enterprise database management system (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Informix, Teradata)
- Experience identifying and supporting process improvements
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Presentation skills to demonstrate recent changes to various team members and business area
- Experience promoting collaboration and teamwork, leading by example and contributing to the productivity and morale of the team
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to continuously learn
- Experience working for large company and within a matrix organization
- Experience working with transportation systems software packages (e.g. Transportation Management System, Onboard Computers, Trailer Tracking, Tractor Cameras) and working with business and technical audiences
- Experience analyzing supply chain business problems and translating business requirements into technology solutions with functional knowledge of receiving, shipping, and inventory management
- Experience with the following processes: Request for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP) and Statement of Work (SOW)
- Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships
- Knowledge of Infrastructure related systems client/server, workstations, servers, networks, database and middleware technologies
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Octopus deploy, pipelines, data bricks, and data warehouses,
- Experience with shell scripting
- 7+ years IT experience designing, developing or testing enterprise applications
- 7+ years IT experience leading enterprise implementation project solutions, relieving bottlenecks in development via requirements hardening, development strategies, and timeline management
- 7+ years IT experience planning and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed environment
- 7+ years designing enterprise class solutions using object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, UML, service-oriented architecture and solution frameworks
- Experience performing data analysis by creating and executing complex queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in SCRUM or other Agile systems development life cycles
- Experience and knowledge of project and problem management, change management, and other systems development processes
- Experience supporting data and process governance of distribution system compliance in accordance with company policies, standards and SOX requirements
- Good understanding of cloud solution architecture patterns and design principles, of different attributes for cloud application availability and scalability, and the ability to propose optimized design for cloud
- Demonstrated multi-tasking and time management skills to manage workload, to drive the work of others, and to adhere to deadlines and high quality
