Principle Accountabilities

  • Train new plant finance team members on fixed asset policies and system procedures.
  • Develop a process for proactive communication and discussion of significant fixed asset activities to ensure accounting and reporting considerations are made prior to system entry, including intercompany activity, stat to gaap adjustments, and book to tax differences.
  • Provide oversight of monthly consolidation by reviewing all fixed asset deliverables and preparing consolidated schedules.
  • Implement best practices and standard procedures related to fixed asset accounting and reporting across entities and ERPs.
  • Work with tax to ensure fixed asset systems align and communicate considerations related to significant fixed asset activities.
  • Maintain subledger of intangible assets and perform periodic impairment analyses.
  • Track, amortize and allocate all IT licensing, prepaid maintenance and related services agreements.
  • Track IT capital projects and related accounting activities.
  • Own preparation and support package for external financial reporting assignments related to fixed and intangible assets.
  • Perform related tasks as requested by supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • CPA is required
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (including experience in public accounting)
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards and principles
  • Direct prior experience with fixed asset accounting
  • Prior experience with multiple fixed asset reporting systems
  • Ability to meet deadlines in fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel (exposure to pivot tables, V-lookup a +), Outlook, PowerPoint required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service attitude
  • Strong analytical skills for researching and identifying discrepancies, reviewing others work and applying accounting guidance
  • Works independently and in a team
