Job description
Cielo Talent is currently conducting an executive search for a System Director Dialysis Services on behalf of our client, Health First. Health First is the only integrated delivery network (IDN) in Central Florida.
Under the direction of the VP of Nursing, the System Director of Dialysis Services fully engages in providing system oversite of the planning, developing, leading, and evaluating of clinical and support services for Dialysis Services across the hospital division to achieve Product Excellence, Customer Delight, Access, Ease and Convenience, and Reduce Cost.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Participates in the strategic and long-range planning of patient care services for dialysis and keeps the VP of Nursing informed on the progress and status of objectives and action plans.
- Maintains a positive, collaborative relationship with the Medical Staffs, Hospital Leadership, and all levels of associates through open, effective written and verbal communication.
- Assists the VP of Nursing in prioritizing as necessary, to meet the changing demands of Health First and the community through effective planning, implementation, and evaluation of dialysis services.
- Serves as liaison between system/hospital/clinic administration, physicians, departments, and staff to ensure cost-effective utilization of services and processes.
- Promotes strategic thinking and disseminates best practice information to drive problem-solving and standardization of care.
- Empowers team members to assume responsibility and accountability within their scope of practice by providing leadership in critical thinking and problem-solving
- Maintains an environment conducive to optimum safety for patients, visitors, and staff by continuously evaluating the appropriateness of care, educating, and ensuring compliance with patient safety goals and quality indicators.
- Participates in the administration of patient care services as a full member of the Nurse Executive Team.
- Partners with the human resource team to lead and manage through concerns and issues affecting associates and dialysis services.
- In collaboration with the VP of Nursing, develops and prepares realistic annual operating and capital budgets, and strategic goals.
- Collaborates with providers and all levels of leadership to ensure staffing costs are managed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Coordinates/allocates personnel, materials, and financial resources with an understanding of patient care needs, projected patient census and changes in healthcare technology.
- Reviews monthly operating budget and reports abnormal findings to the VP of Nursing.
- Serves as a professional role model and mentor to motivate, develop, recruit, and retain future nursing leaders.
- Maintains technical expertise and continuously develops leadership skills through ongoing education and experiential opportunities.
- Serves as a change agent, assisting all staff in understanding the importance, necessity, impact, and process of change.
- Fosters a climate conducive to educational experiences for nursing and other students.
- Contributes to the patient experience as evidenced by written compliments, HCAHPs and positive patient satisfaction scores for department/hospital.
- Provides leadership and consultation to reduce friction and improve customer access to services and care.
- Partners with marketing and other teams to promote service line best practices for enhancing community education, wellness, and outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related
- Current Florida RN license or the ability to attain
- Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card upon hire and maintain
- Minimum of five (5) years clinical dialysis experience
- Minimum of three (3) years in nursing leadership.
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Basic computer skills including MS Office Suite.
- Maintains professional competencies by attending continuing education programs and participation in professional organizations.
- Highly developed communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
- Sound organizational skills to include time management and problem solving.
