The individual will provide vision and leadership in the conduct of complex analytical, developmental, and design assignments related to new advanced aircraft concepts and technologies or existing air vehicle platforms, and serve as loads & dynamics consultant on advanced projects. She/he shall have multi-disciplinary knowledge to effectively serve as IPT lead, consultant, or participant to various Advanced Systems programs and advise multiple levels of management on technical research, applications, and long-range business planning. She/he will communicate with and direct teams, coordinate with air vehicle & mission system disciplines, and mentor subordinate personnel in loads & dynamics. This individual is viewed as a thought leader in the discipline, and develops information and processes that extend the knowledge in the field. The individual will serve as a spokesperson for the company's technical capabilities and future direction related to loads & dynamics, including preparation and presentation of technical briefings. This individual will be instrumental in attracting new business with existing and new customers, support proposal preparation efforts and new project activities, including responsibility for project technical aspects, cost, schedule, and reviews. The individual will also guide development of novel and improved methods and processes in order to maintain current state-of-the-art tools for the Flight Sciences department and Loads & Dynamics communities of practice. This individual will have the ability to lead independent review teams, uncover and resolve complex challenges, and present results to all levels of leadership. The individual should be recognized in the industry, should have partnered with academic institutions, and be a mentor to junior engineers in the loads & dynamics discipline.
Key discipline skillsets / knowledge base of aircraft loads & dynamics include: Development of loads & aeroelastic design criteria to guide air vehicle requirement development, ensure maturing design will satisfy system performance objectives & customer requirements. Prediction of vehicle vibro-acoustic environments, leading to the generation of subsystem procurement specifications and planning of qualification test programs. Creation, maintenance, and validation of a structural dynamic FEM, the foundation of all loads & dynamics analytical activities. Generation of aeroelastic models for the purpose of flight loads, gust loads, flutter, and aeroservoelastic analysis. Conduct of normal modes, frequency response, acoustics, and random vibration analysis. Requirement development and execution of validation tests: including modal, subsystem qualification, load calibration, aeroelastic wind-tunnel, actuator stiffness & freeplay, and landing gear testing. Define aircraft usage and associated service spectra, monitor usage / service life. Contribute to planning, execution, and post-test analysis & reporting of certification / operational system demonstration testing; including taxi, ground handling, flight loads, flutter, vibration & acoustic flight testing. Ability to coordinate and integrate data from multiple discipline teams to include: aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, configuration, air vehicle systems, mission systems, survivability and others.

Basic Qualifications:
20+ Years with Bachelors in Science; 18+ Years with Masters; 15+ Years with PhD.
Passion to advance technologies, tools, processes and application of aircraft loads and dynamics for the defense of the US and our allies.
U.S. Citizenship current DoD Secret clearance required
Special Access Program clearable within a reasonable period of based on normal business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to apply cutting edge research to real mission customer problems
Demonstrated ability to think broadly about applications of loads and dynamics research to products across the NGC enterprise
Demonstrated ability to identify common technology needs across a broad portfolio of programs
Demonstrated track record of loads development and refinement throughout program lifecycle
Proven ability to develop strategic and technology roadmaps and experience translating those roadmaps into technology development
Experience leading teams of technology professionals
Strong influencing and collaboration skills in working across organizational boundaries
Proven effective communication skills at all levels of the organization from executive presence to interaction at the technical level
Understanding of Agile principles and methodologies
U.S. Citizenship with Current DoD SECRET security clearance
Salary Range: 165700 - 248500
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
