Job description

Job Summary

Primarily responsible of receiving and distributing incoming and internal deliveries. Supervised by the Director of Purchasing.

Essential Job Functions

- Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries verifying condition and accuracy by following receiving standards.
- Check weight, quality and pricing.
- Record and adjust discrepancies found.
- Verify shortages and damages conveying information to respective Buyer.
- Complete daily receiving reports and deliver to the Accounting Department with relevant documentation.
- Direct and instruct delivery personnel and enforce receiving standards and policies.
- File purchase order and relevant documentation.
- Communicate with corresponding departments regarding deliveries and coordinate pick up of goods.
- Maintain and update daily purchase order log sheet.
- Perform data entry duties as needed.
- Maintain loading dock neat, orderly and clean.
- Operate, store and maintain delivery equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, flatbeds and/or dollies.
- Utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
- Follow all HACCP standards.
- Report any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices.
- Receive and coordinate all OS&E and FF&E deliveries.
- Performs other job-related duties as directed.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

- Must possess excellent clerical and organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must have mathematical skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to work with a variety of people including line level, drivers, vendors and management.
- Minimum two to three year purchasing receiving experience required.
- Hospitality background preferred.
