Summary:

The Barback is responsible for providing guests with courteous, friendly, sincere, efficient, and graceful table service that meets or exceeds guest expectations. This position is primarily responsible for cleaning bar and equipment, and replenishing bar supplies such as liquor, fruit, ice, and dishes.

Essential Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities:

1. Guest Service - 20%

a. Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction

b. Assisting Bartending staff as needed.

2. Sidework - 80%

a. Set up a bar/bars in a thorough and swift manner.

b. Maintains service and sanitation standards according to health code regulations.

c. Stocks refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer.

d. Replaces empty beer kegs with full ones.

e. Slices and pits fruit used to garnish drinks.

f. Washes glasses, bar, and equipment and polishes bar fixtures.

g. Mops floors.

h. Removes empty bottles and trash.

i. Mixes and prepares flavors for mixed drinks.

j. Maintain the daily operations of the restaurant through the execution of daily sidework.

k. Keeps bar area clean and organized at all times.

l. Attend all required trainings and department meetings

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA's):

1. Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse guest types.

2. Ability to remain calm and well organized under pressure while working quickly.

3. Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple tasks at a time.

4. Ability to keep emotions under control.

5. Good time management skills.

6. Basic knowledge of Wine, Beer, and liquor.

7. Ability to respond promptly to guest needs.

8. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and Team Members

9. Must speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

10. Local knowledge of the community ( attractions activities, etc.)

11. English language and professional communications skills are required.

Experience / Education / Certifications:

  • High School diploma - required
  • Hospitality or customer service experience - preferred
  • Experience in F&B operations - preferred

Standing and walking during most of the scheduled shift. Regularly required to lift, reach with hands and arms, use fingers to handle or feel.

  • Lifting requirements of up to 40 pounds-
  • Working in kitchen on tiled flooring; kitchen conditions may be hot; floor may be slippery (appropriate footwear required)

5. Direct contact with guests, managers, and employees.

6. Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability
