Clinical Supervisor


POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Supervisor will carry responsibility for supervising six or more full-time and/or part time clinical staff. The supervisor will ultimately be responsible for the clinical practice of the persons to whom they are assigned, identifying areas of weakness, and evaluating the overall quality of their work. Clinical supervisors are responsible for maintaining the information regarding compliance measures for the programs in which their supervisees work, and ensuring compliance with all measures. The position requires a breadth of knowledge regarding mental health diagnoses, treatment interventions for children, adolescents and adults, and current best practices for a broad range of client profiles, as well as an ability to demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse cultural groups served by the agency. Includes knowledge of addictions issues such as substance abuse, eating disorders, and domestic violence.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

  • Maintain a high level of quality clinical service through supervision of assigned staff
  • Ability to apply differential diagnosis included but not limited to co-occurring disorders, to a broad range of client issues
  • Ability to present the agency programs to external stakeholders and other providers throughout Miami-Dade County
  • Regular review of caseloads including approval of treatment plans, and overall clinical direction of each case
  • Approve requests for referral for psychiatric evaluations by JCS consultants
  • Review decisions with supervisees to plan for the termination of clinical services
  • Coordinate the schedule of supervisees
  • Approve requests for leave in coordination with office support staff
  • Review requests for conference participation
  • Complete annual staff performance evaluations
  • Monitor productivity and caseloads of supervisees and direct reports
  • Provide clinical coverage for supervisees when the supervisee is on leave
  • Carry a clinical caseload of a minimum of 5-7 clients weekly
  • Provide opportunities for student training within their programs
  • Flexibility with schedule including a minimum of two evenings per week
  • Available to represent the Agency at meetings or community events, or professional presentations. Flexible schedule for these events on evenings or Sundays
  • Completion of reports for grants and other funding sources
  • Participate in monthly professional seminars and in-service training
  • Demonstrate program development skills through participation in grant writing and proposal writing in collaboration with the Division Director of Clinical Services
  • Staff development for staff under supervision of this position
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and administration
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and quarterly meetings
  • Work in collaboration with the coordinator of the graduate student intern program to train and/or supervise graduate student interns
  • Supervise and coordinate Employee Assistance affiliations and referrals
  • Work in collaboration with Directors for CARF re-accreditation and CARF related activities
  • Work with utilization management and billing staff on the claims billing process
  • Have an understanding of the breadth of the programming in which supervisees participate including: outpatient counseling services, DUI program Infant and Early Childhood Services, LGBTQ+ program and the PACTT Initiative (Providing Adolescents and Children Trauma-Focused Treatment).


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Clinical Supervisor will carry responsibility for supervising six or more full-time and/or part-time clinical staff. The supervisor will ultimately be responsible for the clinical practice of the persons to whom they are assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline with relevant clinical experience, required
  • Minimum of five years post-degree experience, required
  • At least two years of experience providing clinical supervision to unlicensed and/or licensed therapists LCSW, LMFT or LMHC Licensure, required in the state of Florida
  • Qualified Supervisor in the State of Florida
  • Completion of an approved supervision course meeting state of Florida requirements
  • Demonstrate a practice philosophy generally in accordance with that of JCS
  • Demonstrate an ability to work effectively with colleagues, supervisees, and administrators
  • Knowledge of cultural issues and demonstrates ability to be sensitive to the range of clients served by the agency
  • An expressed commitment to the purpose and goals of Jewish Community Services
  • Bilingual language abilities, a plus
