We are currently looking for a Director of Procurement to join our team in Miami, FL!

SUMMARY

This position supports internal customers throughout all Perry Ellis International Business Divisions. The Director of Procurement is accountable for the development of policies and procedures as they relate to indirect materials (non-inventory) purchasing and for the development of the procurement staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to indirect spend procurement.
* Consolidate purchasing efforts across all operations, with the objective of cost reduction, reduced overall administrative overhead and greater efficiencies.
* Procure goods and services in the most time efficient and economical manner possible, consistent with company policies and procedures.
* Develop and achieve planned goals in cost reduction, supplier performance, and process improvement.
* Foster supplier partnerships and development and monitoring of a supplier review process.
* Plan and coordinate time and actions, procedures, and follow-up processes for procurement related activities.
* Source, select, negotiate and contract with preferred product and service providers for the benefit of the organization.
* Prepare and evaluate responses to Request For Proposals.
* Develop fluid processes, policies and procedures which address the estimating, control, quality assurance, and payment aspects of procurement.
* Train, manage, direct, coach, and provide feedback for development of staff.
* Communicate with suppliers and internal customers to resolve procurement related issues.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

* Experience buying both goods and services in a manufacturing and/or retail environment.
* Experience negotiating complex contracts/agreements.
* Experience working with Oracle Purchase Order Systems and E-Commerce.
* Experience developing and implementing purchasing related policies & procedures.
* Experience purchasing IT hardware, software, licensing and IT related services.
* Experience developing and managing a P-Card program.
* A generalized understanding of accounting principles and very adept in math.
* An excellent communicator both verbally and in writing.
* Comfortable and proficient with all types of MS applications including, Work, Excel, Outlook, Access, & PowerPoint.
* Strong persuasive abilities and able to work effectively within cross functional teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Required - Eight (8) or more years of purchasing experience of both goods and services.
* Preferred - experience within an organization with revenues in excess of $500M, experience with inventory control, experience purchasing IT product & services, experience purchasing capital equipment, experience with complex Contracts/Agreements, experience utilizing Oracle system.
* Required - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Quantitative Field.
* Preferred - Master's Degree and/or CPM and/or CPIM certification.
