Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Foreclosure Coordinator works closely with the Default Management Team, which processes defaulted loans in a timely manner per state laws, agency, and client guidelines once the loan becomes delinquent and all regulatory letters have expired. The Foreclosure Coordinator is involved in all stages of the foreclosure process, from; First Legal, Judgments, Sale, Loss Mitigation holds, to REO. Duties may vary with respect to each loan file, but include some or all of the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process and monitor standard foreclosure proceedings on mortgage loan files as follows:
- Ensure timeline management of assigned foreclosure files, with no unjustified delays.
- Ensure assigned loans are handled in accordance with Company policies and procedures, Investor guidelines, state laws, and federal regulations.
- Handle title issues and probate until resolved and foreclosure process can resume.
- Handle litigated cases including review and signing of interrogatories, should it be necessary
- Review, follow-up, and provide timely escalation of issues and holds for approval.
- Monitor the escalated foreclosure process to ensure the loan/file is being worked in a timely manner.
- Ensure that all actions have been taken within the appropriate timelines.
- Initiate actions, as needed, to protect the priority of our claim and to minimize loss to the investor and the services
- Ensure policies and procedures are within investor guidelines and compliant with CFPB and OCC regulations.
- Stay informed of industry changes as related to servicing activities.
- Provides daily, week and monthly work reports ensuring escalated cases are processed timely
- At least 1-2 year of experience with mortgage foreclosure, escrow or litigation support experience.
- At least 1 year of experience using LPS desktop and / or MSP.
- Understanding of basic Judicial and Non-Judicial Process.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with LPS Desktop, MSP, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook and Excel. Essential Functions and Compliance
- Good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of basic mortgage documents, including collateral documents.
- Must be organized and able to identify areas for prioritization
- Identify items for escalation
- Must be able to diplomatically resolve issue with staff and internal departments
- Knowledge of foreclosure state timelines
- Knowledge of GSE timelines
- Must be able to think "outside of the box" in order to resolve issues quickly
- High school diploma or its equivalent, College degree preferred
- Loan Servicing or Mortgage industry is required.
- Prior GSE reporting knowledge helpful
- None preferred or required.
