Job Duties and Responsibilities: Coral Gables operates under a commission/manager form of government and is well known for its active and involved citizenry. The Revenue Manager is a specialized financial, administrative, and managerial work that is concentrated in the billing, collection, investment, and custody of all City receipts. Employees in this class are responsible for the direct supervision of technical and clerical personnel involving City billing, licensing (BTRs), collections, debt, and investment activities. Duties include supervising business tax receipts (BTRs), daily cash management, cash collections, cash flow forecasting, investing, bond covenants, monitoring banking and trustee activities, developing procedures, assisting with requests for proposals, and assisting the Assistant Finance Director and Comptroller with preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

The incumbent works directly with the Assistant Finance Director and Comptroller to plan, organize, direct, and control the work of subordinate personnel. Assignments are received in the form of broad objectives and are performed with considerable initiative and independence. Supervision is exercised over technical and clerical personnel through review of records and reports for adherence to established principles, practices and procedures. General supervision is received from the Finance Director, Assistant Finance Director and or Comptroller who reviews work for attainment of desired results, adherence to professional standards, compliance with policies and program effectiveness. Completed work is also subject to periodic internal and external audit.

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.

Four (4) years of professional experience in fiscal, budgetary, or revenue analysis, and/or collection management, preferably in the public sector is required. Two (2) years of said experience in a supervisory capacity. Some (6 months-2 years) in experience in investment management, municipal bonds and/or debt services management is preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Certified Government Financial Officer (CGFO) from the Florida Government Finance Officers Association (FGFOA) and/or Certified Public Accountant is highly desirable.

Valid Florida Driver's License.

Equivalent combination of education and experience beyond a high school diploma or its equivalent.
