Reporting to the Regional Human Resources Director/Senior Director of Talent Acquisition, The Regional Talent Acquisition Specialist will collaborate with the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition to source, interview, and hire top talent. This person will take ownership and develop a strong report with local leadership to determine, support, and execute business staffing needs.
The right person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experience's RESPECT Service System.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Achieve staffing objectives by:
- Conducting intake meetings with hiring managers to determine qualification criteria and organizational plans
- Sourcing, recruiting, and evaluating candidates
- Publishing job announcements on careers pages and job boards
- Active outreach and recruiting via phone, email, and site visits
- Fostering relationships with Maritime Universities, marine training sites, local colleges and trade schools
- Determine top candidates by:
- Working with Marine Department to ensure applicants meet required needs
- Comparing qualifications to job requirements
- Reviewing application questions
- Interviewing and analyzing responses
- Evaluating their understanding and application of THE RESPECT SERVICE SYSTEM through their experience and interview
- Improve organization attractiveness by:
- Promoting brand identity
- Recommending new policies, practices, and tools
- Monitoring job offers and compensation practices
- Emphasizing benefits and perks
- Collaborating with leadership to implement process changes
- Avoid legal challenges by understanding current legislation and enforcing regulations with leadership and hiring managers.
- Coordinate with leadership and hiring managers to schedule additional interviews.
- Research and understand recruitment market trends and participate in continuing educational opportunities.
- Partner with Human Resources teams to seamlessly transition candidates into the onboarding process.
- Additional Job duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant equivalent experience preferred
- 2-5 years of exempt and non-exempt recruiting experience in full life-cycle environment preferably in marine environment
- Knowledge of the Maritime Industry, and Marine Terminology
- Basic knowledge of Marine Licensure and what is involved in the obtaining such licensing
- Experience managing multiple high-volume roles simultaneously
- Ability to embody THE RESPECT SERVICE SYSTEM
- Ability to listen, collaborate, and problem solve effectively and in a timely manner
- Ability to influence leadership and hiring managers in a professional manner
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of relevant laws and compliance standards
- Familiar with Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred
- Familiar with personal and organizational KPI systems and measurements preferred
- Computer skills and a base knowledge of:
- Microsoft Office products and web-based applications
- Skype, Zoom, and other online meeting platforms
- Applicant tracking systems and external job boards
