About Us:
Our Family Investment Office, based in North Palm Beach, Florida is an active investor in lower middle market businesses across North America. Over the past twelve years since our founding, we have built a portfolio of over 100 investments. Over the next four years we are seeking to make 15-20 new investments each year. The Managing Partner is an experienced business builder, having founded two industry-leading companies over the course of his 30+ year career. The firm's other partners are experienced financial executives and private equity investors with prior experience at top firms and schools including McKinsey, TPG Capital, and Harvard Business School. You will work directly with the firm's partners and will learn the ins and outs of doing lower middle market private equity deals.
About the Job:
The Family Office VP Finance will work with the team to support all functions of the Family Office activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all business matters with an emphasis on financial reporting, tax reporting, cash management, banking relationships, financial controls, office & vendor management, and HR support for the Family Office and its Principals. The Family Office VP Finance will integrate all financial and administrative aspects of the Family Office while providing advice and offer solutions on various matters.
Responsibilities include:
- Reports to the lead financial Partner.
- Maintain day-to-day operations and financial management, overseeing accounting and business functions and perform all treasury.
- Review capital call and distribution calculations sources/uses of cash, allocations, and investor notices.
- Monitor invested assets, funded and unfunded commitments, and assist in preparation of annual budgets, liquidity management, and account reconciliations.
- Review investment governing documents, offering documents, subscription documents, side letters, and investment management agreements to ensure proper application of fund terms.
- Review all transaction documentation and supporting files and understand the features of the investment transactions.
- Create, maintain, and/or review distribution waterfall (carried interest) models, in keeping with the applicable investment terms.
- Participate in new investment discussions and deal and portfolio analysis.
- Perform and review month-end closings for multiple entities.
- Prepare, review and present monthly financial reports (GAAP) for all entities.
- Manage the year-end audit process.
- Ownership of state/federal income tax compliance, quarterly estimates, and year-end tax planning for the Family Office Liaise with accountants to minimize tax liabilities through effective tax planning.
- The position also calls for a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside numerous outside parties.
- Contributing to weekly management meetings to help drive the goals and objectives of the Family Office.
- Develop/maintain robust review procedures around deliverables.
- Responsible for managing any ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 10 years of experience or more.
- Family office, investment fund or multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
- MBA and/or MS in Tax is strongly preferred, CPA desirable.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting, specifically with respect to alternative investment funds, with a focus on private equity funds.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills necessary.
- Ultra-high attention to detail, problem solver & intellectually curious.
- Eager to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Must be a motivated self-starter with problem solving skills, the aptitude to think independently, and the motivation to work in a rapidly changing environment.
