The Corporate Development Analyst will be responsible to support all aspects of the acquisition and investment lifecycle including sourcing, diligence, execution, and monitoring. This will position will work with all areas of the company including operations, finance, accounting, human resources.
Essential Functions:
Assist the company in meeting their acquisition goals each year, i.e., 30 plus transaction per year.
- Build and maintain acquisitions databases for acquisition targets
- Support CDO in all aspects of the transaction process/execution from pre-LOI to close
- Be the "go to" individual on all aspects of business valuation and M&A process
- Research strategic markets, identify and keep abreast of trends, and translate findings into actionable insights
- Support CDO in all aspects of the transaction process/execution, including:
- Coordinating information requests to be sent to targets
- Issuing and dealing with confidentiality letters
- Assisting with the preparation of commercial business plans
- Building detailed financial valuations
- Liaising with external due diligence providers
- Liaising with legal advisors
- Assist with the preparation of investment papers to the board
- Prepare/co-ordinate implementation plans, and provide post deal support on integration issues
- Assist with market opportunity research analyses
- Prepare detailed reports describing the key attributes of growth opportunities and target acquisitions, and present findings to the leadership team
- Assist CDO in preparing materials for quarterly board meetings
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills for internal audiences (including business unit executives) and external interactions (including entrepreneurs, bankers, ad supply vendors); ability to adapt presentations for big picture and in-depth discussions
- Support deal teams in all aspects of the transaction lifecycle including strategy planning, business case development, due diligence & execution
- Provide key data on targets to enable investment appraisal
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Education, Licensure and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is required or equivalent of 10 years of experience. MBA, CPA, CFA, or JD is a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience, preferably in transaction services, or corporate development
Competencies/Skills:
- Understanding of M&A, finance, and legal applications
- Exceptional analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills to effectively interpret, analyze and comment on business documents, proposals, and statements
- Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously while meeting deadlines and managing pressure
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare documents, presentations, and strategic materials for key partners and targets.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to operate independently and think outside the box
- Has a can-do attitude
