Finance Manager
Mass Virtual, Inc. is looking to hire an experienced finance manager with excellent organizational and analytical skills, who will be responsible for daily bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivables, payroll, assistance with and analysis of end-of-month, -quarter and -year financial statements, contract planning, analysis and reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation, and other related duties as assigned. The selected individual will work closely with and report to the COO and serve as primary liaison with the company's outside accounting provider.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement accounting and finance processes and procedures
- Manage processes, utilizing the company's outside accounting provider and internal staff to assure separation of duties and redundancy
- Develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets that are adequate for the organization's needs, including preparation of periodic budget forecasts
- Prepare estimates and quotes and conduct analyses as requested in support of defense and commercial contracts
- Prepare, maintain, and present cash flow analyses
- Analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows) and effectively convey analysis to staff as requested
- Assist in preparing quarterly reporting to stockholders and board members
- Assist in preparing year-end books for audit, as required
- Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations for any necessary defense and commercial entities
- Process vendor payments and check requests
- Process employee reimbursements, manage employee credit card charges, and analyze credit card accounts
- Respond to inquiries from staff regarding budgets, deposits, disbursements, and contract analysis and reporting
- Work with Project Management Team to develop/maintain Project Cost Reports
- Process payroll through ADP and oversee payroll tax reporting for the organization
- Prepare annual defense Incurred Cost Electronically (ICE) manual
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Well organized with impeccable verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Work effectively with staff, external contractors, and customers
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Organize tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrate good judgment and good problem-solving skills
- Respond appropriately to evaluation and changes in the work setting
- Expertise in Excel and QuickBooks Enterprise Edition
- Experience processing payroll and understanding of payroll taxes
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent report-writing and communication skills
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, and other financial planning software
- Experience working for a small, growing, entrepreneurial business is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- A minimum of three years experience in accounting/finance
- Experience in defense contract accounting (preferred)
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience processing payroll and developing reports
- Knowledge and understanding of ADP payroll and reporting (preferred)
