Job description
Title: Lead Technical Program/Project Manager
Location: Bay Lake FL 32830 OR Initially Remote
Duration: 9 Months Contract
Description/Comment:
The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will identify, plan and coordinate a set of related projects within a program, to manage their inter dependencies in support of specific business strategies across Cast and Park Operations Retail Technology (CPOR). They will apply project management principles, practices, and techniques to lead and control project schedule, scope, quality, cost and performance risks independently, for multiple complex technology projects. The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will coordinate the activities of the project team by becoming familiar with project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member. The Lead Technical Program/Project Manager will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership and business partners to understand technical and business direction, milestones and budget, as well as provide thought leadership to project management team.
Basic Qualifications
• Undertakes program planning
• Identifies, plans, and coordinates a set of related projects within a program, to manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies
• Plans the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
• Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program
• Participates in the annual budgeting and operating plan to support the program
• Manages execution of program
• Coordinates and facilitates delivery of program objectives
• Ensures timely completion of tasks, maintaining program schedule and target dates
• Successfully assesses program and project risks and formulates mitigation plans, successfully develops and updates project budgets as required, and delivers successful programs and projects in a timely and cost-efficient manner as shown by project statistics
• Leads and directs high-priority matrix projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration and interaction with project sponsors and teams
• Conducts program meetings at leadership and/or executive director levels
• Develops and manages a project change control process as needed to ensure project team operates within the scope of change approval process
• Provides input and feedback to program team members
• Identifies and evaluates the risks associated with program activities and takes appropriate action to mitigate the risks
• Continually reviews available resources to maintain first-hand knowledge of where resources can be best allocated; reevaluates current resources to determine project resource surplus and shortfalls
• Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews deliverables
• Tracks progress and reviews program and project activities to make certain deadlines are met appropriately
• Assesses program and project issues and identifies solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer goals
• Prepares and executes program communication
• Ensures all program stakeholders receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards
• Communicates with clients and other stakeholders to gain support for the program or specific projects, and to solicit input to improve the program
• Liaises with managers to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery
• Conducts regular program status meetings with all stakeholders, keeping the stakeholder's needs and requirements continuously in view
• Works collaboratively with development staff and support staff to maintain thorough knowledge of capabilities, and to ensure precise communications between project teams and stakeholders
• Creates program presentations and reports for executive leadership, program sponsors and stakeholders
• Presents program status and issues to leadership through formal presentations
• Proactively communicates program status, issues & risks to management
• Manages program budget
• Ensures that the program operates within the approved budget
• Monitors all budgeted program expenditures
• Ensures that all financial actuals for the program are up to date
• Works with IT Project Controllers to monitor budget expenditures
• Provides team mentoring and continues professional development
• Mentors various levels of project managers regarding all aspects of the project life cycle and project management discipline
• Continues professional development through attendance at meetings, professional seminars and conferences
• Supports CPOR Program/Project Management Office initiatives
• Supports the transformation of the CPOR Technology Program/Project Management Office
Preferred Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum 7 years of Program/Project management experience (such as: Project Lead, SCRUM Master, Agile Coach) working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions
• Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery
• Ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of projects
• Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills with attention to detail
• Experience with Agile Application Lifecycle Management and development tools like JIRA, Confluence Wiki
• Understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
• Experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall
• Experience with budget tracking and complex cost-benefit analysis
• Experience managing and prioritizing projects within the program and working seamlessly with various teams and stakeholders in a matrix organization
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Preferred:
• Technical project management experience in workforce management
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Agile Certifications (CSM; ACP; CSPO; SAFe; LeSS)
Required Education
Bachelor's degree
