Job description
The CoE Tax team collaborates with our US offices and helps our clients manage a wide range of domestic Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax compliance burdens. We drive innovation in the tax process, as well as analyze and recommend appropriate tax planning opportunities to clients. Our range of tax services cover areas such as state and local tax, sales & use tax and property tax.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform review of complex engagements and review of the Sales/Use tax returns (large/diamond clients of SUT) handled by team members under the supervision of the Manager
- Technically versatile and able to work with data from various sources of complexity and formats
- Monitor, document and apply any changes in tax rates, tax laws for sales and use tax return preparation
- Responsible for Quality Assurance for projects handled by the team
- Identify technical issues on engagements and present recommendations and solutions to the engagement teams
- Manage large engagements and coach the team on technical concepts
- Act as subject matter expert ("Go To" Person) and be a conduit for knowledge sharing
- Actively participate in and lead technical forums in Indirect tax team
- Develop content and help conduct trainings
- Identify gaps, coach, mentor and develop technical skills of team members
- Build professional relationship with the US engagement teams
- Work with national sales and use tax team on administrative issues including time management and profitability to build efficiencies and develop and improve processes and protocols.
- Lead teams and manage their performance, guide and coach them on career development
- Supervise Assistant Managers in coordinating training and support of CoE team members on best practices, policies, and protocols
- Supervise Assistant Managers in managing deliverable deadlines and team workload prioritization
Personal Characteristics & Skill Requirements
- Critical thinking and analytical skills and detail-oriented.
- Aptitude for learning technology (proprietary tools).
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
- A process improvement and knowledge-sharing mind set.
- Execute effectively in cross-cultural business settings.
- Experience working with an outsourcing work stream or in a shared service environment required.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office suite. Extensive experience with Vertex.
- Strong supervisory skills, delegation skills, workload assessment and prioritization skills required.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Ability to travel, up to 10%.
Professional Experience / Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of sales & use tax return preparation, review, accounting and finance experience
- 3 to 5 years of team leadership experience
- CMI designation or Bachelor's degree in business-related major preferred.
