Responsible of assisting the CFO and Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and yearly operations of the Accounting and Finance Department

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations.
  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review expense coding of invoices, accruals, payroll, and other adjustments to ensure accuracy.
  • Review and process PCARD and expense reports along with corresponding receipts submitted by cardholders/employees on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables.
  • Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, setup and monthly maintenance of fixed assets, including depreciation, recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries.
  • Perform general account analysis and prepare corresponding reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports such as financial statements, budget, and management reports with non-financial metrics.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Full Cycle Close.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate attention-to-detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Power Point, and SUPER STRONG Excel skills).
  • Team player that can collaborate with others in the department and organization.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends.
  • Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs (QuickBooks and other ERP experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization, as well as externally.
  • 3+years of accounting experience (corporate accounting preferred, but audit experience will be considered).
    Knowledge/experience in budget preparation preferred.
  • Must have a 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CFA is a DEFINITE plus.
