Job description
Eastern Florida State College is currently seeking applications for the full-time position of Groundskeeper I on the Palm Bay Campus in Palm Bay, Florida.
Responsible for maintaining the campus grounds to include, but not limited to, mowing, edging; and trimming trees, shrubs, foliage, and turf grass.
The following minimum qualifications for these positions must be met before any applicants will be considered:
High School graduate or equivalent with one to three years of experience in landscaping trade.
Must have knowledge of the operation of hand tools and small equipment used in the trade.
Restricted Pesticide license desired.
Valid Florida Motor Vehicle Operators license required.
These positions will require successful fingerprinting and the candidates chosen will be required to pay the associated fee (currently $37.25). This fingerprinting fee ($37.25) is non-refundable.

*High School Diploma or GED or transcripts or official transcripts of all collegiate work (as appropriate for the position) must be sent directly from the attended institution to the Human Resources Office prior to the first day of employment. All foreign degrees must have a course-by-course official evaluation and translation sent to the Human Resources Office directly from an evaluation company affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc.
Minimum physical qualifications:
Works outside in various weather conditions.
Works in or with moving vehicles and/or equipment.
Works in noisy conditions.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 40+ pounds.
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information and/or data from a computer.
The annual salary is $25,000. Successful internal candidates for external job postings should be aware that their current salary does not transfer to the new position. Salary will be as advertised in the job announcement. Full-time employees of Eastern Florida State College receive fringe benefits including health insurance and a retirement plan.
