GPS Impact is hiring a full-time Director of Linear Buying to join our growing Paid Media Team. The Director of Linear Buying is responsible for developing paid media strategy, crafting custom plans, and executing those plans on behalf of GPS clients across multiple media channels and platforms. The Director of Linear Buying will report to the Media Director and has management and staff supervisory responsibilities. This position can be remote (pending location approval) or based in one of our physical office locations including, Des Moines, IA, Kansas City, MO, Philadelphia, PA or Washington, DC.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Media Director to define success and help direct the Media team on their roles in building out paid media planning and buying strategies for GPS clients
  • Develop a comprehensive training program for media buyers that can be used to cross train buying teams.
  • Oversee the day-to-day workflow of key media team members, including hiring, training, mentoring and supervision of the Paid Media Assistant and Lead Integrated Media Planner and Buyer
  • Set clear expectations on deliverables and timelines for Media Team members, including, Paid Media Assistant and Lead Integrated Media Planner and Buyer, monitor performance, provide feedback, and direct and make adjustments, accordingly
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with GPS Media team, internal (and external) partners, to create comprehensive, high quality, strategic paid media plans, including integrated TV + digital
  • Develop media objectives and strategies to meet campaign objectives, across all screens, understanding the intersection of traditional spot television, programmatic/connected television, and digital channels
  • Ensure that the team is utilizing the research and analytics to drive media planning necessary to reach target audiences
  • Effectively negotiate media buys and actively seek added value opportunities when appropriate, and demonstrate objectivity when recommending
  • Ensure that audience delivery is being tracked for all buys, and that monitoring and reporting on competitive media is being delivered as required/requested
  • Maintain and monitor client media budgets, reconcile invoice discrepancies, negotiate makegoods, and report results.
  • Leverage media planning tools and advanced analytics to implement optimization strategies across paid media investments
  • Work with the team to optimize processes to ensure mistake-free trafficking and buying
  • Build and manage agency relationships with vendors and other partners
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge of innovations, changes, and best practices pertaining to media planning/buying and inform and educate GPS team members and others within the agency/practice groups
