Position Summary:

Evaluates financial needs of students from a variety of sources including documentation of financial status and personal interviews, Awards financial aid according to government and institutional regulations and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide financial aid counseling to students and parents regarding application procedures and eligibility requirements for student aid programs.
* Counsel students and families on financial aid programs, policies and procedures, institutional expenses; and academic standards required for the receipt of financial aid.
* Assist students and their families with the completion of application forms.
* Analyze complex detailed financial documents and financial aid applications to determine student eligibility for financial aid and the amount and means of financial aid awards.
* Maintain a complete understanding of all U.S. Department of Education financial aid rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
* Conduct financial aid processing functions.
* VA certifying official back-up.

Qualifications:

* Prior Financial Aid administrative experience required.
* Prior Title IV Federal Student Aid experience required or must complete "FSA Basic Training for New Staff" at within 14 days of hire.
* Experience with Title IV processing preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required.
* Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
* Ability to understand and appreciate cultural diversity.
* Aviation training knowledge preferred.
* Associates Degree preferred.
