Job description

Williams Parker, the regions largest and oldest law firm, is seeking a talented land use attorney to help us serve our growing client base and to help us accelerate that growth. This is a shareholder track position. Candidates must have substantial experience and demonstrable success in all aspects of land use law, including comprehensive plans, zoning, subdivision regulations and related environmental issues.

Williams Parker has been an active participant in and contributor to the areas growth since our formation in 1925. Much of our land use, development, and local government practices success is attributable to our extensive network of personal and professional relationships. Clients seek us because they know we understand the community and how things work at the local level.

Our practitioners represent public and private (for-profit and not-for-profit) sector clients before municipal and county boards and commissions on a variety of zoning, permitting, and land use issues, and in administrative proceedings and hearings before other governmental bodies. Besides our work representing private interests obtaining governmental approvals and permits, we are also regularly engaged to advise local governmental entities on issues unrelated to land use.

Our land use attorneys typically work with our real estate attorneys on development projects. Representation also includes meeting all environmental, public participation, and legal prerequisites for comprehensive plan amendments, zoning amendments and interpretation, land division, public improvement requirements, and environmental reviews.

Requirements

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft, negotiate, and interpret a variety of documents; effectively build relationships with others; and convey complex concepts in a concise and understandable manner
* Enthusiastic attitude with demonstrated initiative, reliability, and an exceptional drive for results
* Ability to work independently and under tight timelines, and to plan and prioritize multiple tasks
* Dedication to client service excellence in a fast-paced, collegial, and engaging environment
* JD and member of the Florida Bar, in good standing
* Florida Bar Certification in relevant area is preferred
