Job description

Under the direction of the Director of Spiritual Care, provides spiritual care to patients, families and employees fostering spiritual resources for healing.

Responsibilities:

* Provides education and consultation for physicians, nurses and other clinical employees.

* Spiritual care and counseling for patients, families and employees.

* Other duties as assigned.

Education:

* Masters of Divinity or equivalent or equivalent from a CHEA-accredited () graduate program completion preferred with significant progress toward such designation considered.
* At least one unit of Accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) from a program or programs accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. ()
* Endorsement or recommendation by faith group representative.

Certifications:

* None required

Competencies (Complexity of Work):

* Counseling and support for all faith groups, ages and conditions.
* Crisis and on-going care.
* On-call and regular work hours.

Work Experience:

* One year employment or volunteer experience in ministry.
* Proven ability to offer counseling and support, free of judgment, to persons of all faith groups, including atheists and humanists, as needed or requested.

* Prior ministry experience, especially in an institutional setting is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
* Must be able to climb stairs, pull, push and facilitate movement of the patient.
* Must have normal or correctable vision and hearing to be able to hear normal conversations.

Personal Protective Equipment:

* Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
