Position Summary

The Accounts Payable Supervisor role provides effective leadership to the Accounts Payable Team; and ensure the department runs effectively; maintenance of accurate records regarding payments to suppliers, processing payments; optimize department processes and build professional relationships within and outside of the organization.

Essential Job Duties

* Lead A/P team to obtain/exceed established policies/procedures; to include recruit, train, motivate, and monitor daily workflow/activities of A/P Team Members,
* Provide ongoing performance feedback and evaluations timely, provide development and growth opportunities,
* Oversee A/P processes to include but not restricted to - invoices, expense reports, account reconciliation; set and ensure department objectives are achieved,
* Monitor cash flow and availability of funds to meet disbursement needs for multiple locations, ensure discounts are taken and accurate/timely processing of payments,
* Train and provide support to Team Members, across all locations, in the proper use of AMIkids travel and expense reporting tool,
* Act as a liaison for the accounting department to ensure proper classification of expenditures and resolve accounts payable disputes,
* Match purchase orders to invoices for accuracy before authorizing payments,
* Complete month-end closing reviews in accordance with policies/procedures,
* Negotiate competitive terms and discounts with vendors to enhance company profit and avoid unnecessary finance charges,
* Automate manual accounting and financial reporting or analysis procedures within the available accounting software,
* Oversee routine department activities; ensure accuracy and timeliness,
* Maintain accurate and complete vendor records,
* Compile, analyze, and prepare financial reports for applicable parties timely, to include 1099s,
* Develop purchasing and procurement policies/procedures, and monitor compliance,
* Develop and execute a documented checklist for new entities/contract to integrate effectively into the A/P processes,
* Develop, generate, maintain, and provide reports on A/P metrics to provide insight to leaders,
* Evaluate existing processes; suggest recommendations for improvements to enhance efficiencies, ensure appropriate segregation of duties, and ensure sufficient internal controls,
* Travel to Program sites and other locations as required,
* May drive for other work-related tasks,
* Position requires driving on a regular basis,
* Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration,
* Two (2) years' A/P or Accounting supervisory experience,
* Seven (7) years' experience in accounting preferred,
* Sound knowledge of accounting and accounts payable procedures,
* Analytical and critical thinking skills,
* Effective problem-solving skills,
* Experience working/prioritizing in multiple locations and funding/contract environment,
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail,
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal),
* Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) experience; Advance preferred,
* Concur experience a plus,
* Experience in ERP AP system, with Sage Intacct a plus,
* Able to attend/complete trainings outside the organization when required (may need to travel to other locations).
