Job description

Role Overview:

The Associate Project Manager will manage projects under direction or Sr. Manager or Manager and will assist multi-disciplinary teams in several phases of a project's software development and implementation life cycle. Duties will involve project planning, communicating with team members and clients, preparing documentation, assisting with meeting related activities, and identifying risks and opportunities. The person successfully fulfilling this role may have a career growth path in project governance within MHK.

Responsibilities:

* Manages activities for one or more assigned projects
* Facilitates daily standup meetings, removes roadblocks
* Facilitates sprint planning meetings and monitors sprint execution
* Develops project plans and ensure optimal quality of project delivery
* Identifies and documents issues. Works with project team to resolve issues
* Identifies and mitigates risks
* Controls project scope by aligning with stakeholders
* Documents actions items and verifies they're completed
* Assigns tasks to internal teams via MHK's ticketing system
* Prepares schedules and maintain MS Project Plans
* Prepares weekly project status reports and other documentation
* Coordinates and schedules meetings and onsite activities
* Facilitates project meetings. Ensures agenda and minutes are published
* Manages deployments
* Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Skills:

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Experience with MS Visio and MS Project preferred
* 1-2 years of experience as a scrum master, project coordinator or project manager in the healthcare, healthcare insurance, or software industry
* Experienced in project governance, capacity planning, and project budgeting
* Technical experience in IT area, understanding of SDLC, software applications
* Working knowledge of the healthcare industry (Medicaid, Medicare, and Commercial) and understanding of related compliance and quality aspects
* Self-starter, with strong sense of ownership, assertive follow-through, and a passion for the highest level of customer satisfaction
* Must be able to effectively communicate with team members and clients
* Experience with deployment processes for cloud-based apps and services preferred
* Excellent verbal, organizational, and written skills
* Agile certifications are desired but not required
