JOB SUMMARY: The Family Support Worker (FSW) serves as a paraprofessional employee providing transportation services to children under the care and supervision of the State of Florida, supervises parent-child visitations, and ancillary support services to the Family Care Management program, including submitting referrals, scanning, and any additional tasks as needed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this classification with or without an accommodation. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. * Coordinates and executes necessary transportation for children in an efficient and timely manner. * Assures that his/her assigned Family Care Management vehicle is maintained in a satisfactory condition of repair by executing and documenting required maintenance checks and reporting any identified problems or irregularities to the appropriate parties. * Assists families in the identification and procurement of necessary community service resources, including housing, day care, employment training, employment, mental health and/or substance abuse counseling, and/or medical treatment. * Assists Family Care Managers in the delivery of program services, including procurement of photographs, birth verifications, fingerprints, school records, medical records and construction and uploading of blue books. * Assists Family Care Management program in maintaining records and program documentation for families receiving services. * Participates in Family Support Coordinator staff meetings as scheduled by immediate supervisor. * Attends and actively participates in Family Support Coordinator Meetings and Family Care Management All Staff Meetings as scheduled. * Establishes and maintains an exemplary customer service standard in the delivery of services to children, families, community providers and other Family Care Management staff. * The Family Support Worker is also responsible for fulfilling the responsibilities of the Visitation Interaction Program, and ensuring all FSW activities are documented in the FSFN database. KNOWLEDGE AND JOB SKILLS: The ideal candidate will have experience in child welfare and have engagement, assessment, and de-escalating skills. The candidate should be familiar with community services in the area. Additionally, they be comfortable driving long distances, have computer knowledge, and be willing to work a flexible schedule.
