Description

The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of HR-related duties on a professional level and provides administrative support to the Human Resources Department. This position assists with the administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company. The HR Assistant must possess a general knowledge of HR practices, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to verification of employment and reference requests.
  • Assist HR Recruiter with full life-cycle recruiting
  • Process pre-employment paperwork and background checks.
  • Verify "onboarding" process is completed for all new hires.
  • Run employee reports from Paycom as requested.
  • Create ID/Access badges for all employees
  • Prepare responses to unemployment claims.
  • Assist with updating FOI SharePoint page
  • Report all work-related injuries and provide follow-up on Worker's Compensation claims.
  • Assist in developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures; prepare updates to the company employee handbook.
  • Maintain HR archived files.
  • Make photocopies, fax/scan documents and perform other general clerical duties.
  • Assists Director of Personnel with various projects as assigned.
  • Assist employees with benefits claim issues and other general inquiries.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process.
  • Process COBRA notices and benefits for all terminated employees.
  • Assist with employee FMLA requests; process FMLA forms and disability claims paperwork.
  • Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 2 years relevant work experience in medical office setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to handle high volume human resources inquires
