Overview:
Ivy H. Smith Company, LLC provides a complete variety of construction and engineering services to the wireless and wireline industry. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, employee relations, training and development, and organizational development. This position will be based out of our West Palm region and will provide support to other areas within the Florida region.Bilingual skills required (Spanish/English) - Creole a plus!
Responsibilities:
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel at a specific locations.
- Will assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures when required.
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems at the local branch level.
- Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees at the field level.
- Conduct new-employee orientations.
- Assists with Benefit meetings, enrollments, etc.
- Assists with employee relations.
- Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as required.
- Assists with various administrative tasks associated with applicable division.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures tocontinually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
- Coordinates all efforts with Corporate HR team to ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline preferred
- 2+ years' experience in HR
- Experienced in HR policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge of hiring processes
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion
- Familiarity with MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills
