Job Overview

Reporting to a Client Team Lead, this person will assist deal teams in the underwriting, structuring, documentation and monitoring of middle market cash flow loans for private equity-backed transactions, including leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, add-on acquisitions and refinancings. This person will also assist senior deal team members with account portfolio activities including quarterly reporting and reviews. The position is for a generalist role across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of a deal team, you will conduct financial and business due diligence including company & industry research, cash flow modeling, financial and dataroom analysis to determine the creditworthiness of prospective borrowers
  • You will assist in the preparation of credit memos and present the underwriting results and recommendations to an investment committee
  • Throughout the deal process you will interact with various stakeholders, including equity sponsors, company management teams (C-suite), investment bankers, sponsor coverage, capital markets and credit professionals, 3rd party investors, legal counsel, loan closers and operations personnel
  • As an account manager, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of assigned loan accounts, including on-going compliance with loan agreements and internal policies
  • You will build and maintain borrower relationships and communicate directly with respective management teams and 3rd party investors in the deal syndicate
  • You will ensure proper records and associated documents are maintained on an on-going basis

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2-4 years related experience including, but not limited to: finance, accounting, private credit and valuations
  • Analytical capabilities: Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, evaluate large sets of data, formulate conclusions and develop actions plans accordingly
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Collaboration skills: Works effectively in a cross-functional team environment with both internal and external stakeholders while taking individual responsibility for quality and accuracy
  • Strong work ethic: Self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced, often unpredictable and deadline-oriented environment
  • Communication skills: Clearly articulate viewpoint verbally and in writing, fostering confidence when sharing/presenting information
  • Proven ability to deliver consistent, reliable and timely execution in a time-sensitive transactional role
  • Highly proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
