WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The HR Director is a hands-on position responsible for defining and implementing a division Human Resources strategy aligned with overall business, culture, talent, and organization objectives. The position serves as a member of the Advanced Solutions Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will report to the SVP of HR and the President of the Division. The position acts as a business partner to division management on human resource-related issues, as well as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicates proactively with the Corporate HR department and business management, and develops integrated solutions. The position formulates and leverages partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees. The HR Director maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its medium term plans, its culture and its competition.

Some specific duties include:

* Provide guidance to employees in all areas of HR. Advise and counsel employees on HR policies, procedures and practices. Ensure compliance with all Company policies, consistent with Company objectives and government regulations
* Coordinate with Talent Acquisition team and business to define hiring needs, support sourcing and selection, train and coach hiring managers and other interviewers, ensuring strong talent pipeline and retention.
* Handle employee relations issues including investigations and complaints in accordance with company investigation practices and progressive discipline policy.
* Administer compensation programs including STIP (Short Term Incentive Program) and salary review programs. Monitor sales commission reports and draws. Manage the Performance Development Review (PDR) Process for the region.
* Work with Regional VPs and department managers in coordination with corporate HR in developing succession plan and development plans for key talent. Provide coaching and development to employees and managers including feedback sessions and performance improvement plans.
* Participate in design and delivery of HR related training programs; assist in the selection of participants for training programs. Conduct/facilitate training. Conduct training needs assessments.
* Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations and internal policies, procedures and communication.
* Work closely with EH&S Specialist on safety issues and participate in monthly Safety committee meetings. Assist in investigations / coordination of Workers Compensation claims to ensure all company policies and state agency regulations are followed accordingly.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required Education and Experience

* Undergraduate degree in related field (Business, Psychology, Human Resources, etc) preferred or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum of 10 years' of experience in HR, including broad generalist and business support.
* Solid understanding of employment regulations (federal, state).
* Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, HR administration, and federal and state respective employment laws.
* Excellent administration, organizational, presentation and implementation skills required.
* Must be highly confidential.
* Must have ability to prioritize work and multitask while delivering high quality results. Ability to shift priorities, work independently and effectively perform under pressure.

Preferred Education and Experience

* Prevailing wages/Davis-Bacon experience preferred.
* SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
* Advanced degree is preferred
