Description
About this role
What team will you be on?
Along with other core Investments teams, BlackRock's Global Lending and Liquidity group, which combines the activities of Global Securities Lending and Cash Management, helps our clients solve their investment challenges and strives to deliver persistent, long-term investment performance. Our investment professionals benefit from the resources of a world-class technology firm that is differentiated by a team approach, integrated research and risk management.
Why is your role important?
Everyone at BlackRock has a role to play in leading the firm's future growth. We believe that diverse teams with complementary strengths are critical to our success. We are seeking a Product Manager to join the Global Securities Lending business in the US, which manages more than $300 billion in loans and provides superior performance through innovative technology, sophisticated models, and quantitative techniques. The successful candidate will work within a global Product Management team and will interface regularly with Trading, Product Strategy, Analytics, Technology and Operations, and other business partners.
What will you be doing?
Key Mission: Partner with stakeholders to successfully deliver initiatives for our business and clients
Project Management: Coordinate initiatives from research to implementation; resolve issues to accelerate initiative delivery; and own partner engagement and awareness
Alignment & Rationalization: Assist with scoping and assessing the viability of initiatives; prioritize against resource constraints; and manage the alignment of initiatives across regional and global forums
Product Design: Reinvent the face of our future platform through UX design and visual requirements creation
Product Evolution: Guide our future technology needs by building market-leading solutions for our clients; and ensure system stability and platform continuity
Research & Innovation: Perform due diligence and brainstorm new ideas for initiatives
What are we looking for?
Organized: Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills, with great follow through on tasks. You do not get overwhelmed easily, take a positive approach to problem solving, and can lead independently to deliver remarkable results
Curious: Innovative, extremely creative and constantly looking for ways to optimize processes. You are diligent and are able to identify the impact each detail may have on the overall project success
Driven: A people person who can both talk and listen. You have highly developed influencing skills, can play the diplomat, but be decisive, too. Additionally, you understand the impact of a highly satisfied, excited team; and you are slightly obsessive about grinding away at issues
Dependable: Willing to assist wherever needed, including support tasks; you have a strong sense of personal ownership and accountability for self and team; and are interested in finance, markets and technology
What Will You Need?
Education: BA/BS degree in a Finance, Computer Science, or related field (e.g., Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics)
Experience: 5+ years joint project management and UX/UI design experience, developer or business analysis practice, preferably in the financial industry, or similar field
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate and document complex concepts simply to partners across levels, including technical and non-technical audiences
Relationship Management: Proven experience building and maintaining strong internal and external client relationships
Technical Skills: Strong UX/UI design abilities, Microsoft Excel and SQL or Python, along with a familiarity with SDLC Agile/Scrum. Other technical skills preferred (Aladdin, VBA, Business Objects, Unix, etc.)
Preferred, but Not Required: Securities Lending experience; history writing business/functional requirements and stories.
Our benefits
To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of benefits including a strong retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive healthcare, support for working parents and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
