Italmatch USA Corporation and its subsidiaries manufacture and sell specialty chemicals to its customers domestically and internationally. Italmatch USA is headquartered in Smyrna, GA. Our parent company is an international chemical company with worldwide operations and sales headquartered in Genoa, Italy.
Position Summary:
The domestic International Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the timely, cost-effective and secure movement of all company domestic and international freight movements. The scope of responsibility is across the supply chain, beginning at the time the goods are packed up from the seller and including when the goods are delivered to a company or customer's location. The domestic international Logistics Coordinator will be the one preparing, distributing and maintaining all shipping documents for domestic shipments, exports and imports.
Responsibilities:
- Create and obtain all shipping documentation including Bill of Ladings, Commercial Invoices, Shippers Letter of Instruction, Dangerous Good Notes, Certificate of Origins, Import/Export Entries and any other related documents where required
- Coordinate with the plant, third-party providers and domestic and international logistics providers to coordinate and book shipments to destination
- Coordinate the allocation of ISO tanks, plant loading and international transport
- Manage shipments using a Transportation Management System, and other systemic resources and tools available
- Monitor domestic and international movement and activities and if a discrepancy is found work toward a resolution
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet domestic and international customer requirements while minimizing inventory and shipping costs
- Audit Freight Forwarder invoices for accuracy
- Update on day-to-day shipping with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders
- Revising and approving quotation, negotiation and contracting of international freight, coordinating and giving instructions of the shipments to the freight forwarder
- Participate in meetings/discussions with various internal departments to ensure suitable arrangements are in place for all company shipments locally, nationally and internationally
- Ensuring smooth and timely freight process flow, monitoring of the import and export process, of the shipment of goods abroad until the final delivery of the good in country
- Provide general guidance , assistance and advice to the business unit in support of the domestic and international freight operations
- Detect and alert to flaws in approaches, methods, procedures and processes and also suggest improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products and email skills required
- Work-related experience preferably in international logistics and supply chain distribution
- Previous experience working with Freight Forwarders
- Prior working experience of customs procedures and regulations
- Prior working experience of logistics processes and procedures
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as an ability to work unsupervised
- Demonstrate previous experience in Customs Compliance or related field
- Authorized to work in US
