The Medicare & Retirement General Manager is responsible for coordinating local market initiatives, events and programs in support of achieving market goals around growth, retention, stars and affordability. The GM will partner with market Executive Directors and VP of Strategy across the State. This role also helps inform operating partners of local market needs specific to the member and provider experience, and works to help implement solutions. GM plays a key role in coordinating member, provider and broker events.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • With guidance from the Health Plan leaders, GM will lead the development and execution of market-specific business plans, including but not limited to:
    • Monitor operating effectiveness of local products/benefits
    • Identify opportunities, trends and root causes to ensure operating effectiveness of local products/benefits
  • Assist local UHN leadership to identify and resolve operational issues associated with incentive-based arrangements including claims, member eligibility, provider and Sales related issues
  • Use solid local market knowledge/expertise to influence business decisions that will impact results, including benefit design, network, sales and marketing plans
  • Responsible for helping achieve market-level NPS goals and CAHPS results
  • Build community relationships with local constituencies and organizations (members, providers, community agencies/partners) that will support our ability to achieve business objectives
  • Work collaboratively with Market Aligned Operating Model on member escalation issues that cannot be resolved through normal customer service channels, as well as quality improvement through call auditing
  • Support operational readiness by partnering with cross-functional teams across the enterprise
  • Ongoing education to members, providers, sales managers/agents, as well as shared services partners (e.g. UHN) and vendors related to product offerings, benefit changes and strategy
  • Coordinate member clinical care events in community settings with provider partners to increase star rating
  • Run weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to support business goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • 5+ years of experience in managed care
  • 3+ years of experience in project management
  • Experience utilizing excellent problem-solving skills with effective follow through
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Solid understanding of the interdependencies across healthcare product operations (network, sales, service, systems, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medicare license
  • Experience in Medicare quality and/or Medicare marketing and sales
  • Demonstrated competence in community/public relations
  • Excellent attention to detail & time management skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Solid analytical skill set
  • Solid communication skills; able to effectively communicate to Sr. Leadership & matrix partners on a consistent basis
  • Solid organizational skills that will allow individual to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet aggressive local goals and objectives
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to interface effectively internally and externally with a wide range of people including members, medical groups, IPAs, and community organizations
  • Self-motivated, goal driven
