Job description

Payroll Analyst

Job Description:

  • Uploading and reconciling time files from various systems into the payroll system
  • Ensuring weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly and/or monthly payrolls are processed timely and accurately
  • Processing off cycle and special payroll requests routinely
  • Monitoring timely review and completion of Clarify cases based upon assignment
  • Assist in the processing of employment verifications as needed
  • Participate in year-end activities to ensure accurate W2s
  • Provide customer support and education for HR managers, payroll coordinators and controllers for locations assigned
  • Participate in testing of updates to SAP payroll system as needed
  • Conduct basic analysis and research related to payroll processing
  • Update and develop Standard Operating Procedures as needed
  • Proactively anticipate customer needs and build trusting relationships

Job Requirements:
  • 1 year processing full cycle multi-state in-house payroll in a mid to large size payroll department
  • Understanding of pay calculations, payroll processes, pay standards and wage and hour laws
  • Previous experience applying financial controls and standards
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively communicate technical payroll and tax terms and explanations to internal customers
  • Must be able to establish and nurture relationships with customers
  • Proven excellent attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines as well as successfully prioritize multiple tasks and customers in a fast paced human resources environment
  • Must be available for overtime as needed
  • Proven excellent skills with MS Office software
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and problem solve
  • Good attendance is mandatory
  • Experience reconciling data to report totals
  • Experience working within a team and providing back up support for other team members.

Education Preferred:

Bachelor's degree highly preferred

Education Required:

Associates Degree or 1 year payroll processing experience
  • Preferred Skills (not required):
  • Experience processing large (10,000 employees or more) corporate payroll
  • SAP Experience
  • Previous experience working with Time & attendance files and systems (Kronos)

Certifications:

CPP Certification
