Job description

Position Overview:

The Payroll Functional SME will be responsible for facilitating and leading analysis and design sessions with business users to document procedures and to gather functional requirements

*Experience with implementing and/or configuring Workforce Software and system infrastructure (similar experience with Workbrain, Workforce Software, ADP eTime, Kronos, or Ceridian suite of time and attendance software will be considered)

*In depth knowledge and ability to analyze, develop, document, and implement complex time and attendance requirements including, but not limited to, pay rules, work rules, union rules, pay codes, queries, update holidays, employee records modification, workforce attendance, and calculated accrual configurations

*Experience leading requirements gathering workshops or facilitating meetings

*Understanding of data management concepts including data integration, quality, governance, and Architecture.

*Experience working with clients and/or upper management to understand business challenges and translate these to functional requirements with limited supervision

*Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues and executives
*Comfort working with groups, as well as sensitivity to individual, group, and organizational dynamics

*Conduct fit-gap analysis of the gathered requirements, to develop a matrix of requirements that can be satisfied by configuring the timekeeping application that qualify as a Fit and those that will require a workaround or custom solution as a Gap.
Domain expertise in HR, Payroll, or Time & Attendance.

*Effectively communicate changes and updates to documents, processes and systems.

*Manage and/or write product requirements documents.

*Ability to maintain and continually refine a backlog of user stories, feature requests, and defects

*Experience in partnering with various functional business areas to gather and document business requirements and to analyze and synthesize information to draw accurate, logical, and actionable conclusions

*Experience working in small-to-medium teams to achieve project goals and complete major deliverables

*Identify payroll vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement

*Ensure the confidentiality and retention of payroll information and records in accordance with established policies

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferred
5+ years' experience supporting timekeeping and payroll processes and systems

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in issue resolution, problem solving, and facilitating business process redesign

2. Project management experience

3. Knowledge of Payroll / Time and Attendance policies, processes and procedures

4. Knowledge of payroll laws, rules and regulations pertaining to payroll

5. Knowledge of standard payroll processes and practices

6. Advanced functional and technical knowledge of HRIS and payroll and timekeeping systems

7. Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and local payroll laws and regulations

8. Project management administration

9. Knowledge of application testing methodology

10.Ability to work under pressure with set implementation dates while implementing multiple projects simultaneously is essential

11. Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks

12. Ability to accurately document and communicate functional requirements

13. Strong technical acumen

14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

15. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work under time constraints to meet critical deadlines

16. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

17. Effective planning and organizational skills.

18. Good technical aptitude to learn new software systems with ease

19. Knowledge and expertise of Excel functionality (formulas, linked spreadsheets, pivot tables, formatting reports in Excel, charts & graphs, etc.).

20. Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems

21. Advanced knowledge of payroll data and ability to query and report on payroll data

22. Ability to create training material and effectively deliver training
