Job description

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and we have a need for an experienced Project Engineer Responsible for engineering for oil and gas pipeline, producing, transporting, refinery and distributing petroleum, petroleum products, underground utilities including water, sewer, fiber optic and related work activities (not limited to calculations, preliminary and detail design, bid specifications, construction management, project scheduling, and project close out.). Provide system capacity and optimization analyses for oil and gas pipeline systems as well for water and sewer systems. Perform detail design, material selection and specifications for proposed pipeline integrity projects (replacements and assessments). Take lead and assist in coordination of gas, petroleum, water, sewer pipelines and fiber optic design and development with other engineering disciplines and third party sub-contractors. Prepare cost estimates, project scopes, and SOW. Check design compliance with applicable codes and client's standards and specifications. Pipeline engineers would be expected to:

  • Support early Technical Project Development
  • Develop P&IDs
  • Technical aspects of Project Execution (Technical QA)
  • Works with Project Manager to assist with various duties
  • Works with Engineering Manager for all technical aspects of the projects
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, employees, and vendors.
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets, employees, and the general public.
  • Addresses Construction Technical Issues

Qualifications Training and Experience

  • BS Degree in Engineering is required.
  • PE a plus, but not required
  • At least 5 years of experience in designing, testing and installing natural gas, petroleum product, water, sewer pipelines, fiber optics installation and related facilities
  • Experience with planning, engineering and coordinating with oil, gas, water, sewer, fiber optic and related projects
  • Engineer must also be able to support procurement, construction, operations and maintenance facilities.
  • Knowledge of construction management, coordinate activities with clients, agencies, owner, operator, contractor, consultants, and other involved in projects.
  • Possess knowledge of Process facilities, Oil gathering, pump & compressor stations, and knowledge of equipment and controls used in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Prior experience should include: Compressors, Pumps, Tanks, Loading Racks, Pipelines, and related equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of 49 CFR 192
  • Strong working knowledge of oil and/or gas piping systems, P&IDs, PFDs, site layout and material take-offs
