RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a Columbus, GA client that is seeking a Director of Machine Learning and Data Science for a remote position.
Summary:
The Director of Machine Learning and Data Science uses deep expertise in data science, RPA, statistics and experience in developing predictive models and solutions to solve complex and challenging problem. This position is responsible for leading Data Science and RPA initiatives in close coordination operations teams to refine the strategic vision regarding AI, machine learning and RPA and build tools and models that will help with claim processing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Director of Machine Learning and Data Science will be accountable for leading Data Science and RPA initiatives across the organization
* Partner with operations team to help define the strategic vision with a focus on improving the current claims processing by applying artificial intelligence, machine learning, and RPA
* Advises on implementation of AI/ML models, advance statistics, and RPA with effective and practical short- and long-term actionable solutions within the business
* Director of Machine Learning and Data Science will recommend and drive initiatives with pragmatic approaches to solving key complex business problems through RPA, data analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques
* Build and manage a team capable of executing data science and RPA projects, and solving challenging problems across the enterprise working closely with other teams
* Director of Machine Learning and Data Science will be responsible for estimating, planning, and managing work and reporting on progress, communicate with business stakeholders and support large-scale experimentation and build data-driven models
* Director of Machine Learning and Data Science will improve adoption of new tools and technologies built with continuous education and training
REQUIREMENTS:
* BS in Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field and 7 to 10+ years of experience in Data Science
* Preferred: MS or PhD in any quantitative field related to Data Science, analytics, or statistics and 5+ years of industry experience in Data Science
* Demonstrated excellence in Statistical/ML techniques to solve supervised (regression, classification) and unsupervised problems
* Experience using one or more languages like Python, R, MATLAB. Python preferred
* Demonstrated excellence in handling both structured and unstructured data
* Extensive experience connecting to various data sources and structures: APIs, NoSQL, RDBMS, Blob Storage, Data Lake
* Experience is cloud services like Azure or AWS
* Experience working on data engineering projects that have supported data science, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and cloud applications at scale
* Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies
* Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to business functions and executive management
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
* Project management skills - will have demonstrated the ability to push projects over the finish line with sound planning and persistent execution; understands how to align resources, seek the input of key constituents, and manage others to achieve desired results
