Summary of Job Duties:
The Coordinator of Student Recruitment for the College of Education and Health Professions' primary responsibility is to educate prospective students and families about the opportunities at the University of Arkansas (UA), specifically within the College of Education and Health Professions. This position is the initial contact for students interested in pursuing one of the undergraduate majors in the College of Education. This position will be developing and managing a pool of prospective students for the College of Education; planning and implementing effective recruitment strategies utilizing market research and ongoing trend analysis to set goals and monitor progress. The Coordinator will develop initiatives to promote and encourage the diversity that reflects the state college-bound population and enriches the educational experience for all UA students; plan and/or represent the university and the college at recruitment events both on and off-campus; act as liaison to the Office of Admissions; and assume other related areas of responsibility as assigned or required by Admissions and the College of Education.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least one year of experience in enrollment services, academic advising, or recruiting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least two years of experience in enrollment services, academic advising, or recruiting in higher education
- At least one year of experience as an admissions counselor, student ambassador, or orientation leader
- At least one year of experience in one of the following areas: teaching, educational setting, or a health professional field
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of university and admissions office procedures and policies
- Proven organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, demonstrated attention to detail, meet deadlines, and think creatively
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, including the ability to present to a large audience
