Summary :The Manager of Credit Risk leads the analytics and strategy of CarMax Auto Finance's (CAF) portfolio of originations. This person manages a team of Analysts responsible for design, development, implementation, and validation of credit underwriting, pricing, loss forecasting and/or consumer activities in order to manage the risk of consumer receivables. The Manager will also drive analysis on business projects and decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Using strong business acumen and judgement, lead analyses for multiple areas of the business including credit underwriting, pricing, and forecasting and develop economic and portfolio forecasts for portfolio management, budgeting, and planningLeverage demonstrated leadership skills to build a culture of teamwork and moving the organization towards a common goal. Manage a team of analysts, setting the direction for team, active involvement in associate development, effective associate evaluation and performance management Review and analyze existing business strategies, recommending and implementing new strategies as appropriateDesign and ensure appropriate utilization of monitoring and tracking to measure and quantify the effectiveness of strategies or testsUse strong conceptual thinking and ability to design and manipulate complex mathematical models for explaining and predicting business metrics. Produce reports and analysis for monthly portfolio performance tracking and evaluationParticipate in and contribute to the strategy and execution plan for identifying, recruiting, interviewing, and hiring analytical resources Purpose of the role The Manager of Credit Risk is responsible for providing the analytical support for the effective management and growth of CAF's portfolio of originations. The Manager must develop and maintain an understanding of volume and credit mix of originations and balance of the portfolio. Analytics is also essential to understanding business impacts including loss forecasting estimates, profitability drivers, and impact to partner lenders. Qualifications and Requirements 5+ years of experience in an analytical or strategic role with experience managing an analytical team.Degree in analytical and mathematical field. Advance degree is a plus.Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively with all levels of associate including owne team up thru senior executives.Ability to explain complex concepts and communicate business insights to other managers with similar and different business backgrounds.Ability to convert high-level business objectives into concrete analysis tasks and lead teams to execute systematically.About CarMax CarMax disrupted the auto industry by delivering the honest, transparent and high-integrity experience customers want and deserve.
