Responsibilities

The GI Lab Technician assists the nurses and physicians in providing care for the endoscopy patient. The Technician supports the area with duties that include but are not limited to transportation of patients and equipment, stocking/ maintaining supplies, care and maintenance of endoscopes and their accessories, contributing to the daily functions of the unit. Collaborates with all members of the WellStar health care team.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Required Minimum Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) card from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.

Required Minimum Experience: Previous hospital clinical experience, endoscopy experience preferred.

Required Minimum Skills: Ability to read, write and speak the English language; Able to communicate in a courteous,

professional and tactful manner. Able to work in a fast paced, intense environment. Emergency call coverage may be

required.
