Head of Compensation and Benefits - Remote
Job Summary:

The Head of Compensation and Benefits is responsible for analyzing and effectively administering Thriveworks benefits and wellness strategies, annual renewals, and compensation programs. This includes benchmarking salaries at all levels of the organization and designing incentive plans (both long-term and short-term) to support Employment Practices Liability (EPL) business and employment strategies. This role also oversees the 401K program and project support.

Compensation: $125,000 on target earnings
Duties/Responsibilities:
Compensation Duties:
Oversees the development of a comprehensive compensation structure across all functions and levels within the organization, inclusive of base pay, variable pay programs, bonuses, and long and short-term incentive plans.
Benchmarks positions against survey data and other market intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.
Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills required by each job.
Prepares and maintains job descriptions and salary scales for each position in the organization; ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents.
Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices.
Responsible for ensuring (thorough audits, legal updates, and personal interactions) that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations as well as federal, state, and local law.
Prepares and presents summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information.
Conducts data and cost analyses to be used in creation of new positions, promotions, and employee negotiations.
Benefits Duties:
Supports administration of all employee benefits, which may include retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies, such as health, life, and disability.
Develops, recommends and installs approved, new, or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises administration of existing plans.
Works with insurance brokers and investment planners to create competitive, cost-effective benefits packages for the organization and coordinates providing benefit data/information to outsourced benefit providers.
Researches employee benefits in similar industries; based on findings, recommends changes or updates to the company's existing benefits or policies.
Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
Serves as a resource to the HR department and CEO and provides support as needed on various projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Change management experience.
Strong negotiation skills.
Ability to collaborate and influence across multiple partner groups/functions.
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
Knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Education and Experience:
One to three years of experience as a compensation analyst is required.
