Job description

Kelly Services is hiring a Lab Technician for a small animal feed manufacturer in Canton, GA!

Hours: Mon-Thur 7:00am-6:00pm w/ 1-hour lunch break (NO WEEKENDS)

Pay: $18/hr.

Description:

We are looking for a full-time employee to assist in running lab tests in our on-site wet chem lab. You will receive all the training and directions needed to complete the job.

Specifically, the employee would be trained to assist our lab manager in the following areas of the day to day operation, including, but not limited to -

• Preparing samples to be tested which includes computer data input and weighing the liquid product in glassware on an analytical balance.
• Running tests - mostly titrations (based on step by step directions).
• Data input - recording results.
• Hand cleaning of glassware and other equipment used in the testing.
• Filing of sample cups.
• Clean out of sample cups.
• Solution preparation (based on step by step directions).
• Chemical inventory.
• Some general office work - filing, scanning documents, etc.
• Data input - production activities as they occur.
• Report generation and submission via email to internal employees & external customers.
• Monitoring and taking samples from process equipment

Upon successful training in the lab, the employee will learn additional duties relating to the shipping and receiving of our product.

The Job responsibilities would include:

• Interacting in person with delivery / pickup drivers
  • Inspecting, verifying & retaining documents required for shipping & receiving
  • Assisting drivers with plant procedures and helping to ensure a smooth flow of information between drivers and our production team
  • Documenting and tracking the unloading / loading process
• Communicating in person and via 2-way radio with our production team
• Communicating with our logistics manager for plant scheduling and impromptu trucking solutions
• Communicating with customers, suppliers, and other Company employees with heavy emphasis on email, text and phone
• Monitoring and taking samples from process equipment
• Testing finished material for water content prior to truck release
• Handling general office work which includes ordering supplies, and filing/ scanning documents, etc.
