The Custodial Staff follows established safety procedures and must demonstrate the willingness to interact with all staff and patrons in a friendly and respectful manner. Reporting to the Facility Manager, under the direction of the Custodial Supervisor, the Custodial Staff is responsible for the cleanliness of all public and back of house areas including offices and service areas.

Boise Centre opened in 1990 and is Idaho's largest convention, meeting, and tradeshow facility. Located in vibrant downtown Boise adjacent to the Grove Plaza. Featuring, 86,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The convention center hosts more than 220 diverse events each year, bringing over 125,000 guests through our doors.

WAGE:
Starting at $16 per hour DOE

WHAT DO CUSTODIAL STAFF DO?
- Cleans and maintains building space, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, lounges, boardrooms, elevators, stairways, escalators, custodial closets, breakrooms and service halls
- Cleans the Visitor Center office and restrooms
- Performs routine and repetitive custodial tasks without immediate supervision
- Replenishes consumable supplies in restrooms, breakrooms, and service areas
- Empties trash and recycling in all restrooms, public areas, service halls, breakrooms, and offices
- Monitors and empties broken glass containers and safely removes for proper disposal
- Responds to emergency situations and assists in resolving operational issues
- Report's maintenance requests for damages, broken equipment, and other facility concerns
- Performs a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Custodial or cleaning experience, preferred
- Knowledge of building cleaning practices, methods, supplies, and equipment
- Must be able to read and follow instructions on labels
- Ability to safely operate equipment and use cleaning supplies
- Ability to perform multiple functions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loads
- Provides timely and thorough customer service to internal and external customers
- Communicates regularly within department and cross functional teams
- Regular and reliable work attendance at scheduled time on-site
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS
- Ability to safely operate heavy and potentially dangerous equipment
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals
- Occasionally will: ascends tall heights up to 22 feet; work in outdoor weather conditions; be exposed to moderate noise levels and temperature extremes
- Frequently will: stand and walk for long periods of time; bend, stoop, kneel, and twist; reach and use ladder, stools, and stairs
- Frequently lifts, pushes, and pulls up to 50 pounds
Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, long hours, weekends, evenings, and holidays
