Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Finance Manager reports to the Lead Finance Manager. The Manufacturing Finance Manager is the primary finance partner to operations, providing accounting and financial analysis support for multiple mill sites. The Manufacturing Finance Manager partners with mill operations to identify opportunities to improve financial results. The Manufacturing Financial Manager works with operations and Corp FPA to develop annual budgets and forecast.

The Finance Manager supervises and develops a Manufacturing Accountant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Review detail monthly journal entries prepared by Senior Manufacturing Accountant.
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of facilities financial performance and cost drivers along with key risks and opportunities.
  • Work with FPA to develop a standard costing methodology and allocations.
  • Work with operational teams to understand business drivers and translate those to financial impacts on the business.
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly internal mill site profit and loss reports, comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
  • Review capital project cost reports and profit and loss statement with operation management personnel.
  • Lead weekly operations cost review meetings.
  • Assist with the development of and maintenance of financial KPIs.
  • Prepare incremental cash flow comparisons for expansion capital projects.
  • Prepare annual mill operations budget and monthly forecast along with necessary supporting schedules, cost analysis and rate studies. Prepare external audit and income tax materials.
  • Partners with controllers and analysts from multiple sites to improve accounting procedures and processes.
  • Supervise and develop Manufacturing Senior Accountant.
  • The listed items may not be the only duties performed in this position - there will be other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge in computer systems including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, electronic scheduling and e-mail, and financial planning software
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Able to multi-task, follow-through, delegate, and prioritize well to meet deadlines
  • Able to deal professionally, courteously, and tactfully with the public and coworkers
  • Valid Driver's License for business travel
  • Ability to pass a drug, physical, and background check
