Job description

Medline Industries has an immediate opening for a Senior Contract Analyst/Negotiator in our Lab products division! This position is currently remote due to Covid-19, but will ultimately be based out of our Northfield, IL office and will offer a hybrid work model. The Senior Contract Analyst/Negotiator will be reponsible for supporting Acute & Post-Acute sales growth by negotiating lab vendor contracts. This person will also work with internal & vendor reps to communicate and correct pricing misalignments, and ensure customer satisfaction.


CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiate local vendor contracts with vendors for acute and non-acute prime vendor accounts.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the vendor community to secure profitable lab vendor contracts.
  • Work with contract & pricing analyst to align best practices and overall pricing accuracy.
  • Initiate contact with vendors to resolve address discrepancies, profitability improvement, lab vendor contract extensions & account eligibility.
  • Manage price change expectations and lead communications with various parties related to lab vendor contracts & pricing.
  • Collaborate with the salesforce and vendors to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Develop and implement methods to improve the sales contract process and oversee contract management flow to decrease risk and increase efficiency.
  • Mentor or train salesforce as needed, particularly in negotiation.
  • Provide project support as needed for customer lab vendor contract issues.
  • Generate and maintain SOP documentation; track and report on the status of contracts.

Education & Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor%26rsquo;s degree
  • At least 3-5 years related experience, proven and proficient negotiating skills. Strong communication, critical thinking, problem resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: making tracked changes, adding developer tab, creating a macro, formatting table style, inserting comments and/or creating a mail merge, document review functionality and document automation capabilities).
  • Average level skill in Microsoft Excel (merging and centering cells, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Relevant Work Experience

  • Relevant work experience in legal or contracts administration for a supplier or other relevant industry.

Certification / Licensure

  • ABA-approved paralegal certificate.

Additional

  • Experience assessing and initiating actions independently.
  • Experience taking charge of a situation, team or project.
