Job description

The successful candidate for the role of Senior Accountant will be hard working, detail oriented, energetic, and eager to take on responsibility. The Senior Accountant will also contribute to the company's success by ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements. A successful Senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills, problem-solving skills, working knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles and concepts, strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the month end close process and perform month end accounting including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for all divisions.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly and yearly financial statements for all divisions.
  • Assist external audit and tax teams by preparing schedules, gathering supporting material and procedures and any other data as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual corporate tax returns (national and international) and annual tax provision by gathering data, preparing schedules, filing necessary tax forms, and participating in tax form preparation.
  • Assist in the management of company fixed asset ledger: additions, transfers, and disposals as well as fixed asset tracking and computing monthly depreciation.
  • Assist in reconciling inventory at all company owned and leased facilities. Collaborate on reconciling inventory cost and ensure accuracy in posting to the general ledger.
  • Participate in several financial analysis projects including freight cost structure; pricing, margin, and sales trend analysis; and warehouse and storage cost analysis.
  • Management of high volume intercompany transaction cycle: from purchase order creation through to accounts payable payment.
  • Manage bank accounts, perform bank reconciliations, and deposit cash receipts for AR reconciliations for all divisions.
  • Review and voucher Accounts Payable invoices and ensure correct coding of invoices in compliance with GAAP for all divisions.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar field; CPA a plus.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and concepts
  • Strong knowledge of Debits and Credits
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate skills in the Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to effectively manage and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized and the ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
