Job description
Position Summary.
This person will be responsible for the overall strategy, sales, relationship management, and delivery activities related to their assigned accounts. They will report directly to the Managing Director of the portfolio assigned.
Your Role. Key Responsibilities.
Sales & Marketing
- Support and provide input on prospecting leads related to service offering focus
- Lead and coordinate pitches on existing accounts
- Achieve organic growth goals within existing portfolio
- Drive Case Studies post delivery to enhance further sales
- Write proposals for qualified opportunities identified by the sales team.
- Work with Project Management to lead definition of approach, scope and budget for all opportunities
- Present Melon capabilities to clients for additional opportunities
Client Relationships
- Establish consultative client relationships to guide digital strategies and ensure that Melon's solutions and methodology are used to the best advantage
- Understand client's business goals, pressures, and requirements; convey client's needs to the internal team
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time and profitably
- Lead scope, schedule and budget negotiations and issue resolutions with clients
- With assigned Project Manager, deliver project management capabilities to clients, including: project plans, weekly budget reports, weekly status report, regular status meetings
- With assigned Project Manager, provide project management capabilities to internal resources, including: project expectations and roles, utilization goals, and staffing
- Represent the Marmalade team's proposed solutions to the client, persuading the client to redefine the problem or their approach as needed
- Navigate the client's organization to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Serve as escalation point for day-to-day client concerns
- Partner with Executive Sponsor to decide which new business to pursue/accept or turn down, based on appropriateness for Melon and "fit to business" with account strategy
- Manage approved client investments
- Collections management in partnership with the Finance team
Team & Leadership
- Partner with Executive Leadership to establish overall team structure; work with team leads to ensure team is staffed appropriately
- Communicate role expectations to team leads and direct reports
- Share vision for the account & empower team leads to establish relationships with client
- Establish team culture - rules of the road for collaboration, communication, escalation
- Ensure that operations/processes are effective - financial, project delivery, cross-acct management, onboarding
- Provide coaching to team members to support team culture or correct issues
Project / Program Level
- Ensure that scopes of work are aligned with account strategy as well as client needs
- Ensure that scopes of work are specific and accurate; actively participate in development of scope descriptions and project plans for complex/strategic initiatives to develop SOWs
- Lend industry, client, and digital marketing expertise to the executional team, participating in all key internal reviews
- Participate in all key client presentations; ensure that the team is prepared with rationale to effectively "sell" the solution; consult clients on the decisions in front of them as needed
- Serve as point of escalation for issues that the team cannot resolve on their own

Your Experience. Qualifications.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- 6-8+ years of relevant account management experience in a consulting or interactive agency, focusing on project oversight/management for digital business solutions (e-Commerce, brand building, online marketing).
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong client management skills - demonstrated success selling and delivering digital business solutions to enterprise level brands
- Strong financial management skills - experience planning, creating, tracking and managing client financials in a service environment
- Strong project and team leadership skills
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills
- Ability to lead and work across cross-capability teams
- Expert conflict resolution skills - creating calm out of chaos
- Willingness to travel / work on-site at client locations (most clients are local) - 50% of time
- Experience across strategic, project-based and production based projects
