Job Description. The Associate Private Wealth Strategies Advisor is an experienced estate planning professional who partners with a Wealth Strategist and Merrill Lynch financial advisors to proactively engage Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients and prospects with investible assets of $25mm+ in a dialogue surrounding advanced wealth transfer and philanthropic strategies. The Associate Private Wealth Strategies Advisor works under the supervision of a Wealth Strategist to: prepare analyses of a client's estate and wealth transfer planning, educate clients about opportunities for additional planning, and works directly with financial advisors to acquire new clients, expand existing wallet share, and retain clients. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and an ability to describe complex strategies used to minimize estate, gift and GST taxes, philanthropic solutions, trust structures, life insurance, and income tax planning. Education / Degrees: Law degree or CPA license. Advanced degree or certification (e.g. LL.M., MST, CFP) is a plus. Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required (or ability to obtain within 120 days). Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of private legal or CPA practice or financial planning experience for UHNW clients. Familiarity with estate planning software programs and Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word, Estate Planning Tools, BNA Estate & Gift Tax Planner) or quick study. Other: Strong communication and presentation skills. Travel 25-30%. Shift: 1st shift (United States of America). Hours Per Week: 40
