Responsibilities

• Execute the billing process in Chicago and other offices, including time and expense submission, pro-form generation and review with practitioners, and final review and submission to clients.
• Coordinate the processing of all independent contractor invoices to ensure inclusion on the monthly client bills and submit contractor invoices to A/P for payment.
• Perform follow-up with clients and attorneys to ensure invoices are in line for payment.
• Assist with preparation of reports to manage revenue generation, collection, and related financial reporting processes, including fixed fee and special billing arrangements.
• Preparation of practice management and cost reports as directed.
• Reconcile Chicago office American Express accounts to receipts and ensure charges properly applied to invoices.
• Assist on special projects for finance, human resources, and billing teams as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years' experience in a professional setting.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
• Strong analytic skills and attention to detail with excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work and communicate with professionals and firm personnel at all levels.
• Ability to multi-task in a demanding, high-expectation environment.
• Experience working for a professional services firm.
• Experience with enterprise planning software.
• Experience with client electronic billing platforms such as Collaborati or Legal Tracker.
