Job description
The Business Development Manager will develop relationships with local end users, architects, brokers, project management firms, property managers and other planners and service operators to identify potential construction projects for all the lines of business in Illinois to include tenant improvements, new buildings and building re-positioning projects in all market sectors. These opportunities will be realized by leveraging current client relationships and developing new relationships. These duties may require some travel and Business Development Manager will interact with National Leader and local office leaders to coordinate travel and client introduction efforts.
Coordination with Operations
- Attend Operations Meetings; provide updates on clients, sales approaches, and industry perspective of the market
- Work closely with Director of Operations/President to determine the best team to assign to specific sales opportunities
- Work with Director of Operations/President to determine solutions to service issues that are brought to the attention of the Business Development Manager. Work with Director of Operations/President to ensure consistent and high level of service delivery to our clients and vendors
- Work with Operations leaders to develop a comprehensive client maintenance program to keep the status of the relationship current
Sales
- Responsible for identifying and securing new business for the company
- Evaluate market penetration strengths and weaknesses and identify target clients
- Determine most effective means of utilizing new and existing Construction agreements to leverage additional work in other markets
- Ensure sales efforts are in line with Company goals and support operational goals
- Responsible for investigating opportunities in conjunction with Operations, the National Sales Leader and/or the CEO to develop strategic partnerships in other markets to accomplish Companywide goals for growth and market penetration
- Responsible for ensuring that the Sales strategy is implemented externally as well as communicating the strategy internally with operations leaders
- Responsible for tracking and following up with past clients
- Responsible for identifying ways to secure additional business with existing accounts
- Responsible for tracking sales wins/losses, identifying trends and working closely with operations to address issues
- Responsible for ensuring that ACCEND is actively participating in community outreach activities, industry functions such as CORENET, NAIOP and other industry organizations, hosting events and educational forums to increase exposure for our firm
- Responsible for Master Service Agreement interaction with the National Sales Leader.
Presentations and Proposals
- Interacting with marketing/branding and documenting companywide pitch process to ensure consistent execution and message, including training of personnel and updating of deliverables in conjunction with Operations leadership
- Work with project teams to prepare them for presentations to clients and potential clients
Financial
- Responsible for selling a minimum of $50 million ACCEND within the fiscal year.
Customer Service
- Responsible for developing a comprehensive customer service plan for our existing clients in conjunction with Operations
- Providing the best customer service efforts delivered consistently from our firm.
Experience & Education
- College degree or equivalent experience or specialized certification
- Minimum of seven years related experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Recognizes importance of maintaining confidential information
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and be highly organized
- Experience in utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is a plus.
