Job description

Working with the Corporate Controller, this person will be responsible for the global consolidation, compiling financial statements, maintaining corporate related accounts, preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, working capital/cash management reporting and drafting quarterly and annual financial statements. Additionally, this person will lead technical accounting matters and ad-hoc management reporting.


Responsibilities

  • Own Global Consolidation for both legal and management reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate Closing the books for monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting in accordance with US GAAP
  • Consolidate and review of monthly financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder's equity and cash flow statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Validate and process sales and balance sheet eliminations across global organization
  • Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly analysis to support financial statements and provide clarity to Corporate Controller regarding movements in key balance sheet and non-operating income statement accounts, as well as cash flow.
  • Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures across the organization
  • Maintain various corporate related accounts including debt related activity, income tax activity, equity activity, payroll activity, and intercompany activity.
  • Support Corporate Controller and Business Unit Controllers to facilitate monthly account reconciliation reviews and variance analysis as well as developing best in class internal controls across all business units
  • Understand & maintain financial reporting and general ledger structure to maximize current and future reporting requirements and consistency across business units.
  • Assist Corporate Controller is reporting key metrics and KPIs as well as driving working capital improvement across the organization
  • Prepare annual income tax provision and assist corporate controller in global tax planning and annual income tax returns
  • Serve as key administrator and super use of Corporate Performance Management Tool (Planful) in maintaining chart of accounts and providing support and troubleshooting to Business Unit finance teams.
  • Manage and lead the external audit process working closely with external audit partners
  • Team with Finance and Business in developing ad hoc and ongoing financial analysis which include both historic and projected data as needed
  • Manage and document the Company's implementation of new Lease Accounting Standards
  • Participate in cross functional projects and assist other functions with financial reporting and disclosure matters


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree must have been in either Accounting or Finance with extended coursework in accounting.
  • CPA and 6 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry; 2 to 3 years of public accounting experience, preferred
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of the interplay between the basic three financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
  • Must have experience preparing detailed cash flow supported by changes in the balance sheet, as well as, ancillary supporting calculations tracking the activity in such items as fixed assets, debt and non-cash activity as well compilation of foreign statement of cash flow
  • Understanding of consolidation, eliminations and investment in subsidiary accounting
  • Strong critical thinking and business acumen
  • To be considered, all candidates must possess extremely strong Excel skills. You will be required to build sophisticated spreadsheets and models.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills A high level of organizational skills plus be very detailed oriented are critical for this position.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines. Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative - always looking at improving our processes and displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary.
  • Experience with Planful strongly preferred
